Film Review: Vince Vaughn's Wild West Comedy Show

Vince Vaughn's Wild West Comedy Show: 30 Days & 30 Nights.
I had this an thought it'd be another one of those stand-up shows like the blue comedy tour etc. but its a million miles away from anythin like that, the comedy takes a backseat and the story of this motly crew of raggamuffins is the main centre to the show. It deals with how the got to where they are, the troubles they faced and what it all means to them, especially to be given a chance like this - and its all done in a very not-soppy way. When you find out some of the things about them, and especially the way they reveal themselves openly you are left saddened and you can completely empthasize with them. They are not comedians - they are real people. This is a comedy dvd that deals with very different emotions and feelings and there is a number of revelations that you will never see in any other comedy dvd ever. At one stage the tourbus is heading straight into the nightmare that was hurricane katrina and they have to re-schedule their performances, afterwards they meet some of the survivors who are shacked up in a makeshift campervan site (their new permenant home) and you watch it through the comedians eyes - the realisation of just what has happened and the devistation that has been caused. It's a completely different show than i was expecting. This is a powerful, funny and entertaining watch - i'd recommend it if you want to laugh but also if you're willing to let yourself see the real people involved in it too. 3. 5 / 5
