Film Review: The Kid Stays In The Picture
The Kid Stays In The Picture: It's the story of Kid Notorious; the actor, producer, womaniser and all round fuckin legend Robert Evans.
Narrated by the man himself it really is a fuckin class bit of film, especially for those who like to hear stories of Hollywood, the ins and outs of film-making and a few tales of other celebs at the time as well. Nowhere near as good as the book, but it never could be i suppose considering its under 2 hours long. It is filmed superbly and considering they only have about 10% of actual film reel with Evans you barely notice the film fly in. Everything about this reeks of awesomeness - Evans himself is a total ledge like!
I'd fully recommend this for anyone who has read the book of the same name or even Easy Riders, Raging Bulls by Peter Biskind.
If you havent, go, read up on Evans, then come back, light the fire and fill a tumbler full of scotch as you sit and smile at the big man's incredible life story. I fucking love him & its cos of stories like this that the movies'll never die. Oh and for those slightly curious he managed to get Rosemary's Baby, Love Story & the Godfather on screen and also produced Urban Cowboy, Marathon Man & Chinatown to name a few. He also took Paramount from the doors of bankrupcy to being the biggest studio in town, gaining 144 oscar nominations in the process. Seriously, proper legend like!!!! Check it out if you're intersted in Hollywood history - you won't be disappointed 4 / 5
